CFRA Program Director Steve Winogron says this year's broadcast was record-breaking.
"It's extremely gratifying, We understand the economy is in pretty rough shape. People are nervous and edgy, but when it comes to this time of the year, they still know how important it is to give and the CFRA Nation really came through this year. It's a record number - it's our biggest one in 61 years and we couldn't be more grateful to people. It's just really, really humbling."

Light Up The Night Almonte 2011

Light up the Night 2011 in Almonte Ontario with Wayne Rostad and Leanne Cusack was a tremendous success thanks to the wonderful town of Almonte and the people of Mississippi Mills!

Thousands of people filled the main street of Almonte on Friday December 2nd for one of the largest outdoor Christmas shows in Canada. It was a festive and musical night in the quaint and Christmassy town. www.lightupthenightalmonte.com

The young and young at heart joined in laughter and sang along with the artists on stage, and of course Wayne Rostad who kicked off the show with his Christmas classic, Christmas In The Valley.

Eating Crow artists Blackwell and Alex Ryder were guests on this year’s show. Alex rocked the bundled up crowd with two holiday songs, Please Come Home for Christmas and Merry Christmas Baby.

Blackwell performed a Christmas favourite, Do You Hear What I Hear; the traditional Christmas standard Silent Night, and to the crowds delight they introduced a song they had written especially for the occasion called Light Up The Night!

Children were delighted when The Snow Queen and her Twinkle Fairies once again waved their magic wands and brought the jolliest Christmas elf of them all... SANTA CLAUS himself down to the stage.

The night ended with Christmas dazzle when the Twinkle Fairies also magically set off the fabulous fireworks for Santa and the crowd.
